Piroschka was our 1st homebred generation. She was a daughter of the late Perser xx and after a short intermezzo in the jumperring she produced 14 excellent foals in 17 seasons. She passed her own character to all of her offspring possibly her best asset aside of being versatile and athletic. Among her children there were two FEI level competition horses:
Besides she is the dam of Domino, Kareens most successful competition horse ever. This one competed consistently in dressage, show jumping and three day eventing and made it to 4 regional championships during Kareens junior and young rider seasons.
Gambit*1988 byGardeulan IIhas been sold via Verden elite auction and competed successfully in dressage up to Intermediaire I. He won three L-level dressage competitions with Kareen as a 5 years old stallion and has been truly fun to work with.
Wabash*1992 by Watzmann is Kareens 'just for fun' riding horse during her time at Hanover vet school. This stallion (3/4 brother in blood to Walldorf) has been shown only once at four years old and won this young horses contest (Materialprüfung) getting a total score of 7.7.
Piroschkas dam SPS Firnbrot has been purchased by Heinrich as his one and only foundation mare. Her sire Perser xx is a full brother in blood to the famous Pik As xx. He is known as a producer of forward thinking dressage offspring. Some of his children tended to be small but Piroschka and her children are all higher than 16.1 hh. So far as Kareen knows she is Persers last daughter alive.
Piroschka is still healthy at 27 years old and takes care of her grandchildren currently living at Riehe farm.

After Piroschka rapidly lost weight and condition during the past months Kareen made the long feared decision on Saturday for Piroschka to be put to sleep. She died as smooth as possible today am. Heinrich left for it and only came back after it was over. She kept licking Kareen's hand until the tranq made her tired. Although we are sick with grief we know it was the right decision not to let her suffer. We are very grateful for having her around for all her life and feel glad we still own 5 of her children so she will continue to live in them. If there is a horse heaven she most definitely is there now!
