Perser xx was a full brother to Pik As xx. Pik As xx is known much better though. This was probably because Perser xx entered the Warmblood breeding only at 12 years old while Pik As xx began his breeding carreer at four years old namely in 1953.
However both these TB stallions have improved the breed throwing tough, intelligent offspring and versatility. Perser xx was noticably taller but just like his older brother produced offspring that generally was on the smaller side. Like Pik As xx his offspring was not always easy but compensated with the immortal will to perform that was so helpful and necessary those days. Screening the breeding stats of 1981 one can learn Perser xx ranked 9th out of all registered German Warmblood sires according to the amount won by his children in competition. This deserves the more respect keeping in mind he never had quite as many mares to cover compared to other stallions those days. He was ahead of very famous sires such as Ladykiller xx (Holstein's In 1986 while Pik As xx was not listed among the top 20 of all Hanoverian sires anymore, Perser xx still ranked 11th again being ahead of big names like Cardinal xx, Lugano I, Salut, Weingau, Wendekreis, or Watzmann (Source: Heck in 'Die berühmtesten Hannoveraner, 1987).
Unfortunately Perser xx's few approved sons never reached as far as their sire so his blood is almost gone nowadays: Presto (out of a Wöhler dam) sired successful FEI level jumpers such as Pinball (ridden by Jörg Münzner) but didn't leave licensed sons of his own. The full brothers Perfekt I and II both consistently sired pretty and friendly offspring but didn't pass on their sires constitution and nerve so they both got gelded. The same counts for his youngest approved son Parsival who in fact didn't produce anything remarkable.
Perser xx is exclusively present in a small number of marelines who can be found in today's Hanoverian pedigrees. One of them was recently honored by an article in 'Der Hannoveraner' namely the family of Pension (by Perser xx - Wöhler). This remarkable mare founded the line the approved stallions Chincelino (by Weltmeyer), Picasso (by Pokal), Foxhunter (by Watzmann), Willem's As I and II (by Watzmann), Dupont (by Diskus), Perpignon (by Pilot) and Bundeschampion Placido (by Prestige Pilot) revealed from. In the US Perser xx is well known as the damsire of Walldorf who continues to produce talented versatile offspring and matches perfect with the TB marebase available in NA.
Also Patras (FEI level Jumper ridden by Peter Weinberg) was a Perser xx - son.
Once Heinrich bred his foundation broodmare SPS Firnbrot to Perser xx it turned out a wise decision to keep the foal Piroschka to continue the breed. Riehe Farm's Piroschka - who was sadly put to sleep on August 27 this year - was one of the last Perser xx - children alive and we're very happy and grateful she gave us so many quality foals to begin with.
