biography

Don Aqui got licensed at Verden main licensing in October 2000. He passed his 30 day test in Zweibrücken scoring two 9's on his jumping and then achieved permanent breeding approval by successfully participating in 2003's Bundeschampionat at Warendorf where he was a finalist in the 5yo eventer division.

July 2003:
Don Aqui has had a good season in 2002 and pinned in material classes and young dressage horse tests with his lady rider. He went on placing himself in the young jumper division up to L-level and then went on to eventing. He has now topped his 2003 season with qualifying for the Bundeschampionates in the 5 yo's eventer division.

September 2003 update:
Donnie hit the finals at Warendorf. We're proud and wish all the best to him and his team!
DER HANNOVERANER wrote:

"Scene applause und enthusiastic whistling received Don Aqui v. Don Bosco/Gardeulan (Z.: H. Heineking, Raddestorf) with Jan Büsch in the final. But the judges assessed the round differently: a little too hesitating at the jump, not enough activity through the back and not always entirely supple. In addition there was a lack of regularity that was rated with a 7.5 - rank 10. The black proved a consistently good manner and leg technique in front at the jump and showed an energetic canter."

July 2004 update:
Don Aqui is back in Hanover! As his biggest asset is his sense for the game and athletic versatility but his previous owner specializes in jumping he was switched against Pino Colado, who was a winner of the jumping part in his SPT at Adelheidsdorf and has now moved to Grevenbroich. Needless to say we are excited about this turn in Don Aqui's life and wish him a warm welcome home in Hanover!

August 2008:
His eldest progeny is 6 years old and from the few mares he has covered to date 4 have already been out winning in young horse tests up to L and M level as of 2007. Don Aqui is now owned solely by Mr. Bernd Beilstein of Möchengladbach standing at stud with Hengststation Berger. Mr. Beilstein considers a sale or lease of Don Aqui to selected home only since Don Aqui is near and dear to him. Please contact us for further details or introduction.

remarks

Don Aqui was by far most successful Don Bosco progeny as of 2003 (by yearly as well as lifetime earnings).
In 2004 he gave this position over to his 3/4 brother, Dom Perignon who went on to compete in Dressage up to Inter II and won the 6yo BC qualifier in Legelshurst.

Videoclip available for download now. Footage from 2003's BC may be viewed as well!
