biography

Ravallo finished SPT with the highest total score ever in 1988 at Medingen: Dressage index 157,52, Jumping index 127,74, Total score 155,43. He is known for passing on his excellent trainability and personality. After he entered breeding only in 1993 he produced 12 SPA/SPS, 4 licensed sons and 8 Verden elite auction candidates.
His most successful progeny are Ravallo-B, Radjana 7, Ribana and Royal Lady who have won more than 1000 DM price money during the 2000 show season in both dressage and jumping. According to 2001 Hanoverian stallion book (based on inspection and MPT results of his daughters) his breed value is estimated remarkably high in both the dressage and jumping department: 128/125
He is also improving breed type and limbs (indices 104/129) according to the same GhV stallion book. As Ravallo crosses best with a TB influenced marebase we crossed him with Riehe Farms Grace by Gotenkönig - Perser due in May 2001 and our elegant Esperanza by Escudo I - Lugano II in 2001 resulting in foals Reunion and Retina.
2003 update: Ravallo now reaches a dressage index of 137 with a high statistical security level of 95%. For jumping he scores 111. He earns major credit for his son's stallion performance test results (141) as well as in trot, canter and rideability (all 137). To date he has 74 daughters registered as broodmares, 15 of which are SPA or SPS. 90 kids have successfully shown in Germany in 2002. 11 of them have won 500+ € during this past season. A lot of them show both disciplines but there also are some specialists sired by him who show either dressage or jumping, do carriage driving or eventing.
Two Ravallo offspring are successfully showing at the highest level in dressage, one in jumping.
Based on the hanoverian database (including inspections, mare performance tests and most recently auction horse evaluation as well) Ravallos most significant positive scores are for improving frame (126) and limb conformation (126) with a focus on correctness (139). His kids scored 132 for dressage ability with best results in the canter and rideability department (142 and 143). Jumping manner and technique is rated 122, ability and scope 111. Points of weakness are according to the hanoverian stallion yearbook breed type (98) with a focus on head, neck and saddle position (95, 80, 95) which confirms he best crosses with mares who have a strong TB-influence.
