biography

Wakander is bred for dressage but also promises to be fun to jump and he moves through the body with a lot of freedom and elasticity. His dam SPS Montana clearly stamped him in type. She is a performance tested multiple best in class winner and best in show mare with excellent features and particular strengths in head, saddle position and neckset (scores of 10 respectively 9).
Wakander is a self assured charakter and feels very safe to work around. He stands well for vet and farrier, loads and travels well and likes cuddling and grooming. He is an all around low maintainance type of horse who will be fun to own and bring along in the future for dressage or jumping.
Wakander should mature to approx. 16.2 h and would suit an amateur rider as well as a professional.
Fall 2003 update: Wakander has undergone gelding surgery and had an uncomplicated recovery. He has since been out with his buddies and will begin work in the spring of 2005.

Spring 2004 update: Wakander was routinely x-rayed and found free of OCD.

remarks

Wakander's new owner on Jan.5 2007: 'Wakander is doing great. Every week he progresses in his training. His top line is developing nicely and his canter. I have been doing some gymnastics with him - he is so brave about everything. Our barn got some new jumps typical of a hunter ring - they have brush boxes, gates, flowers, etc. and he jumps it all. His newest friend is the pot belly pig they just got. This pig isn't afraid of anything either and Wakander is very curious about him. I did take him to a schooling show - it was a jumper show. Our barn was going so I decided to take him to see how he would be. He was great! He jumped around a 2 ft. course of jumper fences - some we trotted and some we cantered. He was a gentleman all day! Anyways, most of all - I love him. He has a friendly, loving personality as you know. The dad's in the barn all love him! Thanks for a wonderful horse!Betsy'
